The sun has finally set upon us after we established ourselves on February 22, 2022.
After three years of conceptualizing, editing, shooting, and producing, we are ready to open the chambers of Priestess. We intend to publish print magazines annually and grow this publication within the larger news and multimedia industry. Today, we start with a blog as we work towards our inaugural print issue of Priestess magazine. The High Priestess of Reproductive Justice Issue will mail in Winter 2025.
We know the speed at which digital media is overtaking print media, as it comes at the same rate as women’s rights unraveling. We are aware of the challenges faced in media and newsrooms, especially women’s media, which focus on serious political issues, as we tend to. We believe that print is not dead and women will have liberation legally. We are committed to creating a space that honors the other half of the population and does not ignore them.

As a multimedia magazine, we will present media and news from around the world about women and their lives. For hundreds of years, the so-called “objective truths” within media and news have excluded the fundamental truths in women’s lives. How can we call these organizations “trustworthy, fair-minded, informative, and neutral arbiters” of news when the presence of women continues to be an afterthought?
At Priestess, we are committed to the intersectionality documentation, storytelling, and reporting of women.
Priestess chronicles this truth of women’s future. We chronicle conflicts, contradictions, struggles, and everything in between within the framework of intersectionality. We explore everyday realism and complex situations, including intersecting identities and oppressions. We believe we can give justice to ourselves and our community. We work towards living in a world that is about liberation and freedom, not the restraints imposed on us by our patriarchal society.

We use the word ‘Priestess’ as derived from the divination of the High Priestess tarot card.
The High Priestess represents strength, wisdom, knowledge, and justice. These divine qualities call on us to use our intuition to help guide us through the world's challenges. The High Priestess pushes us to a higher truth, which leads us to liberation. We use those values in our expression of content.
Welcome to our universe. Here, we have gently and methodically carved out this piece of stone in the shape of women’s liberation—the marble walls and bronze gates of a citadel that stands above all else to write what must be said, report what must be seen, and forge forward for what must become.
